Noch Tausend Worte: Directed by Brian Robbins. With Eddie Murphy, Kerry Washington, Emanuel Ragsdale, Jill Basey. After stretching the truth on a deal with a spiritual guru, literary agent Jack McCall finds a Bodhi tree on his property. Its appearance holds a valuable lesson on the consequences of every word he speaks.

“Eddie has been involved in a lot of crap since the release of u0026quot;Rawu0026quot;. Itu0026#39;s almost as if he felt a debt to society and his family to start making cheesy, family films. The results have been under-whelming to say the least.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThis is Eddieu0026#39;s best film in many years. The plot is ridiculous as with much of what heu0026#39;s been associated with of late, but Eddie is on top of his game here. This film is right up there with Eddieu0026#39;s best over the last 2 decades WHICH ISNu0026#39;T saying much, but it does make it worth the price of admission at the very least. Thatu0026#39;s to say itu0026#39;s nearly as good as u0026quot;The Nutty Professoru0026quot; or u0026quot;Boomerangu0026quot;, but a clear notch above films like u0026quot;Bowfingeru0026quot; and u0026quot;Norbitu0026quot;.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eHeu0026#39;s genuinely funny here, but the script isnu0026#39;t all that funny overall. He carries much of the weight with his expressions and physical comedy.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe other saving grace is the heart of the film. The film does carry nice message, and tugs the heartstrings for those who make the time investment on this one.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eI was surprised, but that might have had as much to do with my expectations as it did anything else.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eI can marginally recommend this for those who like a light-hearted comedy.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eEddie still has it! He does! You get glimpses of it here. All us ole-timers are still waiting for him to tackle a great project with an u0026quot;Ru0026quot; rating, but this film is far better than itu0026#39;s score here or anywhere else.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eNot that I blame the audience – but it seems as if the reputation of Eddie making bad films has put a seriously negative spin on what is actually a decent little film here. Letu0026#39;s not trample on the guy.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eMy biggest gripe was with one particular scene where the CGI is over-blown and unnecessary but other than that, this film wasnu0026#39;t bad at all.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eScoring it exactly the same as another rental from yesterday, u0026quot;Thin Iceu0026quot;, 65/100, and rounding it to 7. I donu0026#39;t feel bad about it either.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eNot nearly as bad as I had anticipated.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eYou might like this if you liked: Yes Man(slightly better or even), The Nutty Professor(slightly better or even), and Bruce Almighty(slightly better).”
