Mending Fences: Directed by Stephen Bridgewater. With Laura Leighton, Angie Dickinson, Peter Jason, David Lee Smith. After failing to get the anchor woman position she was promised solely as wife (now ex) of a studio boss, Kelly Faraday needs to feel her own roots again. She returns home with daughter Kamilla, to equally stubborn (grand)ma Ruth Hanson. Ruth makes them commit to try keep the ranch in the family at a time of drought, when neighbors sell to a company that wants to build a casino. Kelly’s ex Walt Mitchell, now Ruth’s foreman, rekindles her love-life, while Kamilla gets on with local rancher Hank Bentley’s son Chuck. Further a company’s trade in illegal, possibly unsafe drugs is discovered.

“I tried to watch this made for TV movie today, but had to give up after half an hour. Why may you ask?u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eSimply that the dialogue could not be heard due to the constant non stop music. What is it about Larry Levinson productions or Hallmark Films that we have to have music, music, and more music all the time?u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe personnel who arrange for non stop music in these budget production films should be castrated and boiled in their own oil. Music is fine in the right place and can enhance a film and often does, but to play music non stop, especially over the actoru0026#39;s dialogue is totally wrong.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003ePerhaps they feel the film cannot stand on itu0026#39;s own feet without non-stop music, but they have made a big mistake.”
