The Human Race: Directed by Paul Hough. With Paul McCarthy-Boyington, Eddie McGee, Trista Robinson, T. Arthur Cottam. In THE HUMAN RACE a group of 80 people are ripped out of their daily lives and all re-appear in an undisclosed location. These people are from all walks of life: young and old, athletic and disabled, white-collared and homeless. The rules to a race boom in their heads, in their own voice and language, laying out what will become a horrific race of terror: ‘If you are lapped twice, you die. If you step off the path, you die. If you touch the grass, you will die. Race… or die.’

“I know there are a lot of reviews on here that magnify the negative points in this film. So, to get some stuff out of the way, the acting and sets used in this film are awful. Pure terrible. Additionally, the start of the film is awfully jarring.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eHowever, there are some really interesting ideas to be found here. I wont be giving anything away by saying that there are two deaf characters in this film. The way the film makers have used these two characters sign conversations are quite clever, I donu0026#39;t think I have seen an interaction like this before (but then I am fairly ignorant).u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe development of the characters as individuals is also done in timed manner. I donu0026#39;t think there was a moment in the film where I asked myself u0026quot;what about so and so…u0026quot;.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eI am not sure that this is the right format for the material though. As I was watching, I felt that it could have been better conveyed as a mini series etc.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eEssentially, if you donu0026#39;t mind losing an hour and a half out of your life and want to see something different, give it a watch.”
