Rumble on the Docks: Directed by Fred F. Sears. With James Darren, Laurie Carroll, Michael Granger, Jerry Janger. Crime drama concerning the coming-of-age of a Brooklyn-born 17-year old whose loyalty is torn between his parents’ old-fashion values and a local gangster’s flashy lifestyle.

“Jimmy Smigelski (James Darren) is the leader of the Diggers, a teen gang running around the New York docks area in Brooklyn. Their big rival are the Stompers. Jimmyu0026#39;s father is a honorable business owner who is rallying the locals against the mobsters. Jimmy is befriended by racketeer Joe Brindo who starts pulling him into the criminal world.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eJames Darren is a good charismatic actor. Heu0026#39;s no James Dean but heu0026#39;s plenty James enough. Otherwise, itu0026#39;s all a bit old style 50u0026#39;s teen gangs. It reminds me more of West Side Story than anything else. It does try to be serious but it doesnu0026#39;t have the sharpest edges. Like Jimmy, this movie is a little out of its league.”
