“The masterpiece that u0026quot;The French Connectionu0026quot; was and still is, never needed a sequel. u0026quot;The French Connectionu0026quot; and its mysterious ending were fine as it was. u0026quot;French Connection IIu0026quot; focuses on u0026#39;Popeyeu0026#39; Doyle who takes revenge on the drug smuggler Alain Charnier, not in New York this time but Marseille, France. Itu0026#39;s unnecessary all but still this movie is a very good one!u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eAlthough the visual style is pretty much similar as in u0026quot;The French Connectionu0026quot; the movie here relies more on a faster pace and also has just a bit more action, thanks to action specialist director John Frankenheimer. The atmosphere however is not as good, simply because Marseille, although it has its charm, simply ainu0026#39;t no New York.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eI also really missed u0026#39;Cloudyu0026#39; Russo in this movie. Sure, u0026#39;Popeyeu0026#39; Doyleu0026#39;s character is strong enough to carry the entire movie but he just ainu0026#39;t the same without u0026#39;Cloudyu0026#39; by his side.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThere are more than enough good moments that make up for these losses, the ending for example is really brilliant and I absolutely loved it!u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eOnce youu0026#39;ve seen u0026quot;The French Connectionu0026quot; this isnu0026#39;t really a must see but nevertheless, itu0026#39;s a very good movie and perfectly watchable.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003e8/10u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003ehttp://bobafett1138.blogspot.com/”
