Oke Rôjin!: Directed by Tôru Hosokawa. With Anne Watanabe, Yumiko Fujita, Riku Hagiwara, Tonpei Hidari. When the new teacher at the high school, who has played violin since her school days, hears a local amateur orchestra her interest is rekindled and she determines to join. Being new and unfamiliar with the town she accidentally enrolls in an orchestra comprised of the elderly who nonetheless are delighted to have the younger blood. The teacher does not have the heart to backtrack and disappoint them. She is the permanent new conductor.

“As someone who plays the violin and have also been part of my college orchestra, I probably should not rate this movie an 8/10 because of the obvious fake playing throughout the film. That said, Iu0026#39;m also torn between complimenting the editing since they could have edited to make the fake playing less obnoxious but at the same time the scene cuts are just really well-timed for comedy and just over-all visual experience.nThe film is very innocent as its protagonist is. And shows us a story of how one aspiring musician is caught up in this larger drama of two men and their hostile past. Instead of being in one of their shoes, we are taken outside of someone who incidentally connects the two.nItu0026#39;s hilarious and heart-warming.”
