Der Teufel führt Regie: Directed by Fernando Di Leo. With Henry Silva, Richard Conte, Gianni Garko, Antonia Santilli. A hitman finds himself embroiled in the middle of a Mafia war between the Sicilians and the Calabrians.

“u0026#39;Il Bossu0026#39; is a sinuous and stereotypically hard-boiled explosive Mafiosi actioner from maestro Fernando Di Leo, with the stoic to the point of terminal rigidity Henry Silva delivering yet another bravura performance as the ice-veined terror-thug, Nick Lanzetta, with Hollywood icon Richard Conte lending considerable old world gravitas as the octogenarian Sicilian king pin, Don Carrasco. All this stylish retribution is served admirably by another funky uber infectious score by long-time Di Leo collaborator Luis Enriquez Bacalov. u0026#39;Il Bossu0026#39; remains one of the all-time great 70s mafia flicks, and thankfully Di Leo flinches not a jot from the requisite midnight movie mantra of serious ultra violence. If you have yet to witness any of Fernando Di Leou0026#39;s meticulously crafted gangster epics, one should start here, as Henry Silvau0026#39;s Neolithically nasty Nick Lanzetta is the most Machiavellian and blood thirsty hit man to ever blaze a hot crimson swathe across the Silva screen!”
