Knots: Directed by Michael Kang. With Henry Dittman, Illeana Douglas, Sung Kang, Janel Parrish. After Lily rejects her boyfriend’s marriage proposal, she returns home to Hawaii where she must help out with her mother’s weddingplanning business.

“This is a pleasant enough movie, though I didnu0026#39;t like a lot of the characters. I liked Kai and I liked Twinny, but thatu0026#39;s it. Lily is kind of hard to take. Sheu0026#39;s quite independent and just doesnu0026#39;t have the personality that appeals to me. Hoku is demanding and quirky and wears too much makeup. She doesnu0026#39;t do much for me either. But Iu0026#39;m describing how I feel. I think both characters will appeal to others in their own way.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe leading actors do a good enough job, I suppose.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThere is a sad scene where Hokuu0026#39;s father leaves for good and this upsets the girl a great deal. Lily has no sympathy, saying Daddies are not supposed to stay around.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eChris Taloa does quite a good job in the scene where as Roy he finally reveals what has been going on in his life.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThere is lots of good music, some of it connected with Hawaiian culture.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eItu0026#39;s a cute movie that can get serious, and probably appropriate for family viewing as well.”
