The Killing Jar (2010)

The Killing Jar: Directed by Mark Young. With Amber Benson, Kevin Gage, Lew Temple, Danny Trejo. A stranger armed with a shotgun takes seven patrons hostage in a remote roadside diner. But as the body count increases, the desperate survivors discover that one of the hostages may be even more dangerous than their captor.

“The Killing Jar has a lot to recommend it, especially the great acting by Michael Madsen (a favorite of mine), Amber Benson, Jake Busey, and Harold Perrineau (he played Damon Pope on u0026quot;Sons of Anarchyu0026quot; and Mercutio in u0026quot;Romeo and Julietu0026quot;). But what might be a tight thriller gets a little too bloody, to the point where it is gratuitous rather than adding to the story. Toned down it would have made for a much better story.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eIu0026#39;m a big Michael Madsen fan and I never tire of his walks on the dark side in films like u0026quot;Kill Billu0026quot;, u0026quot;Sin Cityu0026quot;, u0026quot;Getawayu0026quot; and, of course, u0026quot;Reservoir Dogsu0026quot;. Heu0026#39;s capable of playing other types of roles (u0026quot;Wyatt Earpu0026quot;, u0026quot;Speciesu0026quot;, u0026quot;Free Willyu0026quot;) but audiences come to expect the violent portrayals. In this film I think he does a lot more acting and his character is not as one dimensional as Mr. Blonde. Itu0026#39;s certainly the equivalent of his multi-faceted character from u0026quot;Kill Billu0026quot;.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe film is a definite must for Madsen fans.”
