The Historian (2014)

The Historian: Directed by Miles Doleac. With William Sadler, Glynnis O’Connor, Colin Cunningham, John Cullum. A history professor flees a painful personal tragedy, taking a job at a new university, where he struggles with a contentious department chair, student apathy, and new relationships that challenge his worldview.

“I did not expect much from this movie because Jakeu0026#39;s Road brought me here, but I have to acknowledge the solid directing, acting (although I wish he would stop looking off to the right so much when the other actors deliver their lines) and writing by Miles Doleac. William Sadler and Leticia Jimenez are also very good in this movie. u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eI am assuming that Miles and Mike Mayhall are friends, appearing in projects written and directed by the other, but there is no comparison between them as writer/directors. This movie is thoughtful, intelligent and insightful. I was impressed by this film, looking forward to more from Miles. 6/10”
