Taking Off: Directed by Milos Forman. With Lynn Carlin, Buck Henry, Georgia Engel, Tony Harvey. While searching for their runaway teenage daughter, the parents rediscover life’s joys as they get acquainted with a self-help group for parents of vanished children.

“I saw this movie on itu0026#39;s original release and was mightily impressed. Iu0026#39;d previously seen Formanu0026#39;s u0026quot;The Firemanu0026#39;s Ballu0026quot; and liked the quirky style that he repeats so well with this one. The tale of the confused parents trying desperately to understand their u0026quot;waywardu0026quot; daughter is gently told but is bitingly satirical. I will never forget scenes of the parents attending the seminar on how to smoke a joint and the convention for the parents of fugitive children. So where has this movie gone? I checked out the on line video store here in the UK to find that it was deleted in 92. Great shame, itu0026#39;s a classic.”
