El sueño del mono loco: Directed by Fernando Trueba. With Jeff Goldblum, Miranda Richardson, Anémone, Daniel Ceccaldi. American writer in Paris is hired to do a script for an edgy young director he can’t stand. When he falls in love with the director’s cold and manipulative pretty sister, his life starts to unravel and he realizes that he’s been used.

“This movie holds your interest for quite a while, with its eccentric and enigmatic characters, atmospheric direction and first-rate acting by Jeff Goldblum and Miranda Richardson (Lisa Walker is kind of weak though, as the nymphet). But eventually it becomes clear that the story leads nowhere. Its u0026quot;title historyu0026quot; is a giveaway: you can find it listed under either u0026quot;The Mad Monkeyu0026quot; (unattractive and meaningless – itu0026#39;s only the title of a fictional movie we learn nothing about) or u0026quot;Twisted Obsessionu0026quot; (more u0026quot;suggestiveu0026quot; and commercial)….but actually it doesnu0026#39;t matter what itu0026#39;s called, because it ultimately isnu0026#39;t ABOUT anything in particular.
