Servais Mont, a photographer, meets Nadine Chevalier who earns her money starring in cheap soft-core movies. Nadine is torn apart between Servais, for whom she is falling in love, and her husband Jacques, to whom she has moral obligations.

“This one is a strong contender!Romy Schneider was highly praised (and granted a Cesar) for her u0026quot;harrowingu0026quot; part but Zulawski is definitely a deeply boring terribly pretentious director.Outside Schneider, the casts includes zombie Dutronc who portrays a totally unconvincing character with suicidal tendencies and Fabio Testi, one of the worst Italian actors.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe plot is very trite but it is given a u0026quot;meaningfulu0026quot; u0026quot;intellectualu0026quot; treatment whose purpose is to make the audience feel they have watched an u0026quot;importantu0026quot; work.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eNadine Chevalier was Schneideru0026#39;s answer to those who thought she was still their Sissi.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eIu0026#39;m not an intellectual:I like Sissi best.”
