Road to Juarez: Directed by David A. Ponce de Leon. With William Forsythe, Jacqueline Pinol, Pepe Serna, Mike Wade. An American ex-con with Mexican underworld ties ensnares a pair of young misfits into a dangerous heist in Mexico. Inspired by true events.

“I caught this film last night at the Beverly Hills Film Festival and thoroughly enjoyed it. Itu0026#39;s a legitimate bi-lingual, bi-cultural experience, taking place both in the US and Mexico. William Forsythe as u0026quot;Gringo Dogu0026quot; is at his creepy best, but Walter Perez also holds his own as the hero along with sidekick Charley Koontz. Iu0026#39;m in love with Romina Peniche but thatu0026#39;s another story. Why she isnu0026#39;t a huge star mystifies me. The storyu0026#39;s not the greatest, but the dialogueu0026#39;s pretty good, and if you speak Spanish and English youu0026#39;re way ahead on this one since the English subtitles are sometimes a PG translation of what theyu0026#39;re really saying. Obviously done on a budget, the film manages to squeeze some real production value out of several cool-looking locations and some second-unit material shot in Mexico City and environs. Sound and picture are first rate, as is the music. Worth watching.”
