Church u0026 State: Directed by Holly Tuckett, Kendall Wilcox. With Jennifer Dobner, Mark Lawrence, Jim Magleby, Taylor Petrey. A surprise federal court ruling in 2013 legalized gay marriage for Utah – triggering a fierce battle in a state where Mormon church values control the Legislature and every aspect of public life.

“This movie had interesting subject matter and was very well done. The battle between state and federal government is always intriguing for us Americans. I grew up Mormon and lived in Utah and they were very fair and accurate in their depiction of u0026quot;The Churchu0026quot; (as it is known there). Highlights include clips of their u0026quot;prophetsu0026quot; making statements on homosexuality and my personal favorite was when one of them tacitly condones violence against homosexuals when recounting his own violent reaction to a homosexual advance by grinning and saying he wasnu0026#39;t sorry. But aside from having to watch all the haters spout hate itu0026#39;s a really good movie. The lawyers who take on the case are heroes and I got very emotional watching all the happy gay people get married in spite of all the adversity in a place like Utah. I highly recommend to everyone interested in humanity and if you are an ex-mormon like me, itu0026#39;s an absolute must see!”
