Monster High: 13 Wishes: Directed by Steve Sacks, Andrew Duncan, Audu Paden. With Cam Clarke, Erin Fitzgerald, Missi Hale, Cindy Robinson. It’s a new school year at Monster High! Howleen’s dream of popularity becomes a possibility when she stumbles upon a genie who grants her not 3, but 13 wishes!

“13 Wishes is arguably Monster Highu0026#39;s best, and in my opinion one of the best movies to come from a toy franchise to date. 13 wishes explores themes of low-self esteem, sibling rivalry, u0026amp; u0026quot;wishfulu0026quot; thinking which I think any tween regardless of gender or background would find relatable. The plot is well developed and has clear continuity to the movies predecessors and Mattelu0026#39;s spin-off franchise u0026quot;Ever After Highu0026quot;. While the story is completely fictional, the story doesnu0026#39;t feel convoluted or frustrating to understand, and a masterfully sinister performance by Jonquill Goode makes characters like Whisp feel authentically frightening and seductive. Cameos of Monster High characters like Wydowna Spider u0026amp; a musical performance by the MH universes Ariana Grande, u0026quot;Catty Noiru0026quot;, make the movie even more enjoyable to die hard fans. In contrast, although comedic relief scenes like u0026quot;Die Tryingu0026quot; featuring Monster Highu0026#39;s male lineup, attempt to make the movie light hearted, the movie could do without these tedious scenes despite the necessary marketing for the doll lines male counterparts. Despite this minor caveat, the character designs are captivating, and the movies vivid and imaginative universe keep eyes glued to the screen, itu0026#39;s the only Monster High movie Iu0026#39;ve found myself watching numerous times, bringing me back to an electric u0026amp; nostalgic feeling of child-like innocence.”
