Elle s'appelle Sabine (2007)
55KElle s’appelle Sabine: Directed by Sandrine Bonnaire. With Sabine Bonnaire. A sensitive portrait of Sabine Bonnaire, the autistic sister of the french actress Sandrine Bonnaire.
“Her Name is Sabine is a beautifully filmed and portrayed story of a young autistic woman by her devoted sister.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eI am a teacher who has worked with and researched individuals with ADD, ADHD, Aspergeru0026#39;s syndrome and autism. They are emotionally beautiful, intelligent, and extremely sensitive individuals. We have much to learn and change within ourselves to be responsive to the true needs of these individuals.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eCNN recently posted many articles and videos online as they covered autism on World Autism Awareness Day. Autistics need and are governed within largely by love. One video showed how having a personal dog, trained to be with an autistic individual, gave that person a long time friend to love and with whom to interact. These dogs can sense the needs of the autistic person, providing an atmosphere of loving calmness and often helping to still the anxiousness before, during or after a stressful episode.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eHopefully an institution could provide or accept animals such as this in their program, or perhaps even a small animal could be loved and cared for. Love must flow, for if blocked, well being is gone, rather than being restored. This practice is not spread widely yet, but it has been tried and found to be very successful in the US.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eI believe Sabineu0026#39;s hitting would then end, her hitting being her cry for love and attention.”
