Breathin’: The Eddy Zheng Story: Directed by Ben Wang. Arrested at 16 and tried as an adult for kidnapping and robbery, Eddy Zheng served over 20 years in California prisons and jails. Ben Wang’s BREATHIN’: THE EDDY ZHENG STORY paints an intimate portrait of Eddy – the prisoner, the immigrant, the son, the activist – on his journey to freedom, rehabilitation and redemption. Winner of CAAMFest Audience Award, Austin Asian American Film Festival Audience Award, Austin Asian American Film Festival Documentary Jury Award, and DisOrient Film Festival Jason D. Mak Social Justice Award

“9/7/17. As I was watching this I was a bit torn about the message this documentary was seeking to convey. You can say that Eddy is somewhat charismatic and can probably do a lot for communities. However, he really needs to face up to the crimes he has committed and the people he has hurt by his crimes. Even after years in prison he still has not faced up the consequences of his actions. That would make a nice post- script, that he ask for forgiveness from the families of his victims.”
