Die liebestolle Familie: Directed by Gerald Thomas. With Ted Ray, Jean Kent, Leslie Phillips, Joan Sims. The orderly suburban life of a 1950’s English town is turned on its head when the teenaged daughter of one of the residents writes a steamy bestseller featuring characters obviously based on the local population. They begin to see themselves and their neighbours in a surprising new light.

“The movie started out as a rather genteel suburban comedy, but got surprising a lot better. A clever plot for its day, with a good cast. Not up there with the Ealing comedies, but far superior to the Carry On films.”
