“I saw this movie on cable when I was probably 18 or 20 years old, and from the first time watching it, I was enthralled. It really does engross you. I think the credit (and Im happy to say the Oscar) goes to Jack Lemmon, an actor whou003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003ereally did have the everyman down to a science. The movie is an excellentu003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003ecommentary on dreams coming apart, the loss of old friends, and realizingu003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eyoure time may have come and gone. Not exactly the most uplifting movie but it is raw and honest. Lemmon and his partner run Capri Casuals, a womenu0026#39;s wearu003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eline based in southern California in the early 70u0026#39;s. (incidentally the name comes from the island where most of Lemmons war time buddies were killed andu003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eburied) When times get tough and Lemmon is lowering himself by becoming au003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003epimp to a big customer, he realizes his American dream might be over. Inu003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003econsultation with his partner he decides to hire an arsonist to destroy his factory for the insurance. An intense, searing performance from Lemmon, makes Saveu003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003ethe Tiger a movie that should be watched for years to come.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eHighly Recommended.”
