Spymate (2003)
40KSpymate: Directed by Robert Vince. With Barry Bostwick, Jay Brazeau, Richard Kind, Kathryn Kirkpatrick. Minkey, a super-spy primate, and his partner Mike were the two best spies in the business. For years, they made every mission possible – But when Mike retired to raise his baby girl, Amelia, he never predicted that life would come full circle. Ten years later, Amelia — who has invented a revolutionary chemical drill — is kidnapped and whisked off to Japan by Dr. Farley, who is planning a highly dangerous experiment that could cause a massive earthquake and destroy the entire world. Mike and Minkey partner up one last time for their most important mission ever: saving Amelia — and the world — from the clutches of the evil Dr. Farley.
“I took my two kids aged 7 and 10 to see this movie. They seemed to enjoy it, but I found it to be one of the worst movies I have ever had to sit through.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe plot seems okay on the surface – A chimp who works as a spy. However it all goes downhill from there. There are many silly twists, characters that just donu0026#39;t fit and situations that are completely unbelievable. The film was obviously made on a tight budget and it shows. Nothing seems even remotely real.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe director has made a number of animal movies in the past, specifically the MVP (Most Valuable Primate) and Airbud movies. This is easily his worst yet.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eSave your money and go see ANY other kids movie.”
