“Civil Brand is a mediocre prison film. It is trying to class up the much-maligned so called u0026quot;Women in Prisonu0026quot; flick. This isnu0026#39;t like u0026quot;Caged Heatu0026quot; and u0026quot;Chained Heatu0026quot;. Rather this is a drama about changing your life for the better.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe redeeming parts of this film are: any scene with Warden Alan Deese (Clifton Powell) and Mos Defu0026#39;s character. Everything else is very clichéd and has no originality. All the prison stereotypes are in force. Also there are too many jump cuts and editing tricks. The acting for the most part is just a lot of yelling. On the downside, the ending feels a bit tacked-on. On the upside, Lark Voorhies of u0026quot;Saved By the Bellu0026quot; fame is in it.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eFor more insanity, please visit: comeuppancereviews.com”
