Wasting Away (2007)

Wasting Away: Directed by Matthew Kohnen. With Matthew Davis, Julianna Robinson, Michael Grant Terry, Betsy Beutler. Turning the zombie film on its head, this film is an oddball comedy from the perspective of the brain munching monsters themselves.

“Now, this is one of the very few films I have seen that is only lacking one thing: a bigger budget. Starting from a brilliant idea the Kohnens have developed a smartly silly script and translated this into a nicely paced movie. There are a few lengths but the script manages to cover them nicely while keeping the overall tone of the movie intact. I only wished the filmmakers had had a little more budget for some of the special effects (or potential effects), Iu0026#39;m sure we would have gotten something on the level of Jacksonu0026#39;s u0026#39;Dead Aliveu0026#39;, or at least u0026#39;Bad Tasteu0026#39; 🙂 … btw … the references to this particular one are lovely … u0026#39;We are zombies! Zombies donu0026#39;t run!u0026#39; This was by far the best movie that Iu0026#39;ve seen at this yearu0026#39;s u0026#39;Another Hole In The Headu0026#39; festival, and I hope the Kohnens get the chance of another shot at this topic with a decent budget.”
