“A random pick and a mix movie I had no knowledge of the film going in I happily went in with no expectations and walked away remarkably pleased.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eBoys in the Trees is an Australian feature movie that is quite frankly genre breaking. Horror? Drama? Thriller? Itu0026#39;s so hard to pin it down to one, though I will say the cover art will have you making incorrect assumptions.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eItu0026#39;s a coming of age movie about a young man who is part of the u0026quot;Cool kidsu0026quot;. One day on the skate park he witnesses his best friend bullying another boy not knowing that single event would change everything.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eFor a fair chunk of the movie Iu0026#39;ll be honest I thought I wasnu0026#39;t going to like it. I didnu0026#39;t like many of the characters, I couldnu0026#39;t get behind the protagonist and deemed the plot a bit of a jumbled mess.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eNow by the end theyu0026#39;d turned much of that around, though the plot is still very jumbled. Thankfully it does make up for that for the most part and when the credits rolled I was hit with a wave of emotions and very thankful that I had come across this film.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eIt only ended moments ago but Iu0026#39;m left feeling itu0026#39;s going to stay with me for a while. Itu0026#39;s thought provoking, powerful and not even remotely shallow alike most films these days.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eWith an awesome soundtrack, competent performances and some great writing I can confidently recommend Boys in the Trees to anyone seeking something that little bit different.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe Good:u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eAwesome soundtracku003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eVery good visualsu003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eSome great writingu003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003ePowerful stuffu003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe Bad:u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eSome character flawsu003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eCertainly wonu0026#39;t appeal to everyone”
