“My curiosity sparked after reading HORST IN TRANSLATION review of the film NEED ,I was expecting after reading this review to watch a bad film…to my surprise I ended up watching a beautifully written and powerfully acted film on female sexual trauma .My other surprise was this film was done by a woman of color. And after reading HORST IN TRANSLATION review I felt as an artist of color myself that the review I read was a personal attack on a woman of coloru0026#39;s artistic voice .Enough said on mister HORST IN TRANSLATION review. I donu0026#39;t want to give him any more press on an unfortunate and not supportive stance in an industry that definitely needs a more positive inclusion of people of color in the film industry .But I want to continue to say which is most important to acknowledge: Miss Tijuana Layne for her courage ,her talent ,her extraordinary vision as an artist who must be recognized .The film NEED brought me to a greater understanding of women dealing with sexual trauma and especially childhood sexual trauma . This film brought clearly a strong emotional connection to this issue .It was subtle ,emotionally heart wrenching at times ,raw in its truth .Even though at some points it was difficult to watch ,it made me connect to the main character .It is a film to be watched ! All the actors were strong in their portrayals. Last note : please take the time to watch this film .The 32 minutes is more than worth the time. It is an education and an extraordinary journey that Miss Layne allows us to come along with. Tijuana Layne is a brilliant actor and film maker.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eAngele Mukamudeli ,screen writer .”
