Too Many Kisses: Directed by Paul Sloane. With Richard Dix, Frank Currier, Albert Tavernier, Frances Howard. Richard Gaylord, Jr. is a modern Lothario who has so many sweethearts that his father does not know what to do with him. Tired of paying to get his son out of one romantic entanglement after another, the elder Gaylord sends his son to the Basque region of France, believing that the women there will accept attentions only from their own people. Almost immediately, a local girl, Yvonne Hurja becomes infatuated with Richard, whom she sees as being able to help her break free from the unwanted attention of local guardsman Julio. A rivalry grows between Richard and Julio.

“Frank Currier is a mining engineer who has a huge worldwide operation. He spends his profits buying off women whom his son, Richard Dix, has captivated. To save some of the money, he ships Dix off to Basque country under the supervision of Joseph Burke. The Basque woman, Burke informs him, never have anything to do with non-Basque men. Unfortunately, no one has told Basque beauty Frances Howard, and the two are soon canoodling. This upsets policeman/bandit William Powell, who arranges for his death….. futilely as it turns out, because Dix is the star of this movie, and how deadly do you expect your thugs to be when one of them is Harpo Marx in a biretta instead of a battered top hat?u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThis movie has been sought for many years because of Harpou0026#39;s appearance. It was listed confidently as u0026#39;lostu0026#39; until it turned up in a 16mm. print in Irvin Willatu0026#39;s estate. The copy that played last night on Turner Classc Movies was in beautiful condition, alas, while the romantic parts are good, the comedy bits arenu0026#39;t that funny. Well, itu0026#39;s one to check off the list.”
