Promises: Directed by Melody Brooke, Mike Henricks. With Manu Intiraymi, Kim Jackson Davis, Melody Brooke, Benjamin Dane. Latchkey kids lose touch when one of them moves away, only to reconnect years later without realizing it, having changed their names to escape their pasts. Once they realize who each other are; they are able heal the wounds of their pasts.

“Drama ending in romance. (not spoilers, Drama u0026amp; Romance are advertised genres) Two emotionally wounded people meet and develop a complicated relationship. Late in the game, they find out they knew each other as children. (reconnection described in IMDb Storyline). That helps them bond again and each deal with their past abuse: psychological, physical, and sexual. This is not a violent, sexual, nor depressing film — it is a well-done development of two people discovering how to overcome their past and have a future together. What begins as drama ends in romance. Manu Intiraymi and Kim Jackson Wheeler play very well off each other and their acting is superb. The script, supporting actors, and cinematography were all very well done. To me, a Best Film in its genre(s) and everything a really good film ought to be. Enjoy two hours with this one!”
