Silent Rose: Directed by Mitch Dickman. With Marquel Alexander, Diego Bateman, Shatira Herrera, GerRee Hinshaw. Filmed mostly in black and white, this is an intimate look at the many students, teachers, and staff whose stories interweave in the difficult landscape of modern high school, with the results of the 2016 Presidential election looming over the school. The students try to survive amidst lockdown drills, the rise of fake news on social media and their feelings about racial inequality in the wake of Trayvon Martin’s murder. We meet a new teacher who is learning the ropes, a school security guard dealing with frightening new challenges and two students who are given the opportunity to open up an honest dialogue about race relations and instead find themselves at odds with their school principal.

“This 46 and a half minute documentary is featured on The Nightmare Series Encyclopedia DVD, which is on the seventh disc of the Nightmare on Elm Street box set. It features interviews with all the main cast and crew. Everything about the first film is covered from the origins of the story to casting to shopping it around to talk of the alternative endings and everything it between. The sequels only get a brief mention of the sequels, thats the only thing lacking in the documentary. But hey you canu0026#39;t have everything, I guess. Plus the less said about u0026quot;Freddyu0026#39;s Revengeu0026quot; is always good.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eMy Grade: B”
