Memoria: Directed by Vladimir de Fontenay, Nina Ljeti. With Sam Dillon, Thomas Mann, James Franco, Teo Halm. Ivan Cohen is a young man living in Palo Alto, California. Unsatisfied by his slacker group of friends, his love for a girl who doesn’t know he exists and a dysfunctional family life, he is struggling to find his place in the world.

“Seems a bit like a student film, I know James Franco is in it but heu0026#39;s held film-classes and stuff so itu0026#39;s not unreasonable to think that he was asked to appear in a couple scenes by his students.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eNow thatu0026#39;s not necessarily a bad thing, and initially it shows some promise but it doesnu0026#39;t amount to a whole muchu003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eIt does feel rather realistic though, the characters do talk and act like a lot of youths do and act like morons for no particular reasons half the time just like many youths do. The ending was extremely out of the blue though.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eAnd there isnu0026#39;t a whole lot of material to connect with, the plot despite itu0026#39;s realistic nature isnu0026#39;t deeply constructed enough and they could have made one of the characters a bit more likable perhaps where as with this none really are.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eBut itu0026#39;s still not enough for me to write off the directors and writers completely for the future with this being their debut full length feature film, I think their best work is to come though, everyone have to start somewhere and itu0026#39;s not absolutely terrible by any means.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eI just saw the poster for this and realised itu0026#39;s actually based on James Francou0026#39;s memoir book Palo Alto stories, just like u0026#39;Palo Alto (2013)u0026#39; was so if thatu0026#39;s what draws you to want to watch this Iu0026#39;d suggest watching that instead cause thatu0026#39;s far better and a more complete piece of work.”
