27KThe Penitent Thief: Directed by Lucas Miles. With Kevin Sorbo, James Russo, Gerardo Davila, Stelio Savante. The Penitent Thief is the story of the two unnamed men who were crucified alongside Jesus and how they came to be beside him on the cross that fateful day. The Penitent Thief is an epic story that begins with the journey of the Magi and their chance meeting with young Dismas and his brother Jotham at the manger in Bethlehem. Soon after, the young brothers will suffer an unspeakable tragedy that results in them being taken in by a band of thieves with a penchant for violence. There, they meet Gestas, another young man who will share their fate. Together, on their journey to the cross, they will try to outrun their destiny. But first, they must survive a ruthless Roman centurion who threatens to unleash a terrible revenge on them. Along the way, they frequently cross paths with Jesus and other influential biblical figures. But they will soon find that there is no escape from the brutal end that awaits them all on Golgotha.
“Iu0026#39;m sorry but I really donu0026#39;t like this film. Kevin Sorbo is not a convincing King Herod. Iu0026#39;ve seen him in many other films but IMO this role does not fit him. Also, the young boysu0026#39; accents are so thick I can barely understand them, and yet as adults the accent isnu0026#39;t there. Then there was the u0026quot;angelu0026quot; that appeared to Joseph… he looked like a fiery-eyed demon. I did not like him at all.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eAs for the plot line, I get this is fiction but I think it stretches things a little too far. Quite frankly it is difficult for me to accept it as believable.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eOne point.of accuracy… the Wise Men did NOT go to the stables. That was the shepherds. The wisemen appeared a couple of years later. That is why King Harold ordered the execution of.children two years old and younger, not just infants. Plus Matthew 2:11 clearly states they went to the childu0026#39;s HOUSE. I donu0026#39;t know why so many donu0026#39;t understand this.”
