Anne Frank's Holocaust (TV Movie 2015)
59KAnne Frank’s Holocaust: Directed by Erik Nelson. With Anne Frank, Michael Berenbaum, Hannah Pick-Goslar, Martin K.A. Morgan. Anne Frank’s world famous diary came to an abrupt end shortly before she and her family were discovered hiding from the Nazis in a secret annex at the top of Otto Frank’s office building, on August 4, 1944. While her diary tells the story of Anne’s life, the story of her death reveals the atrocities encountered by millions of Jews during the Holocaust. In a solemn remembrance of the horrors that Anne Frank and these millions of others suffered during the dark days of World War II, National Geographic Channel (NGC) takes viewers inside the concentration camps in a two-hour special. In keeping with NGC’s tradition of unparalleled storytelling, Anne Frank’s Holocaust incorporates new findings and rarely seen photographs to reintroduce the story of the massacre of Jews in one of the most comprehensive documentaries on the subject to date. “For those of us who always wondered what Anne Frank and her family had to endure after getting turned in to the Nazis. Anne has to be one of the most accessible and adorable historical figures of all time, in part of course because she wasnu0026#39;t famous and never had a clue she would be famous. There are a few tech features to this that really enhanced its effectiveness. In many scenes they will show you what it looks like now, and then layer in (in black and white) what the scene looked like in darker times. There are also interviews with two friends that saw Anne after her detention. I think there is little doubt that on scale alone the Holocaust was the most distressing development in world history. They handle what happened with enough detail to let us get a feel for it but in a manner that this could be viewed by a small child (with a lot of counseling during it). Should be required viewing for any hate crime participant. An absolutely fantastic and inspired production. May Anne rejoice in heaven.”
