This film has substance!u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe more recent u0026#39;Ready or Notu0026#39; had a similar premise. Although u0026#39;Youu0026#39;re Nextu0026#39; also has some subtle black humor, it is more restrained, and thereu0026#39;s a number of very disturbing, bloody and even gory-ish scenes. The film is also loaded with highly effective jump scares – every scare justified by something actually happening, and not simply someone placing a hand on someoneu0026#39;s shoulder, accompanied by loud blaring music. Nope, these were real scares and the score was also effective.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eSharni Vinson is excellent as the filmu0026#39;s protagonist, Erin, and her character turned out to be a nice surprise. It was such a relief seeing a heroin making good decisions and showing no mercy to the perpetrators – the way it ought to be! Thereu0026#39;s a big reveal during the second act that significantly increases the suspense.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eTwo scenes in the movie were being repeated at different times during the film and Iu0026#39;m still not sure why. I tried looking for clues during these scenes but there were nothing significant about them. Weird.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eu0026#39;Youu0026#39;re Nextu0026#39; is an exciting film with good characters and an awesome heroin. I loved it!”
