Min börda: Directed by Niki Lindroth von Bahr. With Sven Björklund, Mattias Fransson, Carl Englén, Olof Wretling. ‘An animated musical with apocalyptic undertones. The story is divided into four episodes which takes place in a supermarket, a long term hotel, a call center and a hamburger restaurant. All of the settings are located in a modern, generic market place next to a large freeway. The characters, portrayed as animals, perform musical numbers with singing and dancing. The theme is invisible modern day labor for wages and existential anxiety. The atmosphere spans from cheerful tap routines to nightmarish black.’

“I saw The Burden in Annecy this summer, and have been thinking about it since. This is an animated musical that donu0026#39;t look like anything else. So unique and fresh that I first didnu0026#39;t know how to react.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eItu0026#39;s sad but funny, weird but universal, intellectual but emotional, tragic but still uplifting. And then all the detailed craft behind the sets of and puppet animals, as well as the beautiful music – it makes you wanna see it over and over again. The fishes, the stepping mice, the apocalyptic ending…u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThere are elements of big names like David Lynch, Roy Andersson, Lars von Trier and Wes Anderson – but basically this Swedish short is so original that itu0026#39;s hard to describe – you have to see it. For me, itu0026#39;s by far the best and most interesting short film of 2017.”
