Émotion: Directed by Nobuhiko Ôbayashi. With Sari Akasaka, Kyôko Hanyû, Sakio Hirata, Jinichi Isizaki. Experimental short film depicting the life, perhaps real, perhaps a dream, of a young girl named Emi. Emi travels to the city where she encounters her counterpart, Sari, and falls in love with…a vampire?

“The plot makes no sense. I frankly donu0026#39;t think itu0026#39;s capable of being u0026quot;spoiledu0026quot; in any legitimate sense. This short movie is more about the visuals than any coherent narrative. Unfortunately, the visuals largely fall into the category of doing odd things with the camera, just because they can.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eIf youu0026#39;re thinking of watching this because it was included on your Criterion Collection version of House, I would recommend you skip this and move on to another movie from your set instead. It doesnu0026#39;t matter what you pick; almost any one of them would be a better use of your time.”
