“Uhm, no…u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eI have to admit that when I stumbled upon this 2015 horror movie titled u0026quot;Creature Lakeu0026quot;, well that is what the DVDu0026#39;s title said, I was intrigued. I liked the cover, and since it was a horror movie, of course I had to sit down to watch it.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThen I learned that the movie was titled u0026quot;Gitaskogu0026quot;, and not u0026quot;Creature Lakeu0026quot;. But I suppose that is all just depending on where the movie was released or something.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eAnd then as the movie started, it dawned on me that this was going to be one of those u0026#39;found footageu0026#39; crapfests. Yet, I opted to give the movie a chance. But believe you me, this was indeed a crapfest.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe storyline certainly was well enough written, I mean to the extend of the native American legend and the creature myth. But the execution of the movie was just utter rubbish. I loathe u0026#39;found footageu0026#39; movies. Why pay money to watch a movie that is something you could just as easily have filmed yourself with your very own digital video camera? No, it is just a bunch of…u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eWell, moving on. This movie was bad, trust me. Very, very bad. And if the audience is to believe that the footage shot during that weekend was found and reconstructed into a movie, why would it be found when the native American found the video cameras with no difficulty at all. Wouldnu0026#39;t he have destroyed the evidence? Of course he would. So this movie made absolutely no sense at all.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eVisually then u0026quot;Gitaskogu0026quot; wasnu0026#39;t an impressive movie. The camera work was shoddy and all over the place, as it always is with these laughable u0026#39;found footageu0026#39; movies. And the CGI for the creature in the lake was dubious at best.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eAs for this being a horror movie. No, it just didnu0026#39;t have the contents to be a proper horror movie.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe acting in the movie was actually adequate enough, taking into consideration that writers Damien Slevin and Damien Slevin had provided very little material for the cast to work with. But the character gallery in u0026quot;Gitaskogu0026quot; was pretty flaccid, as the characters were one-dimensional and could essentially all have been one and the same character.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eWhile I suffered through the entire movie, I can in all honesty say that this is not a movie that I will be returning to watch a second time. Nor is it a movie that I would recommend you wasting your time, money or effort on. Some of us suffered through this ordeal so you donu0026#39;t have to.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eMy rating of u0026quot;Gitaskogu0026quot; lands on a generous two out of ten stars.”
