Paranormal Effect: Directed by Ryuichi Asano, Teruo Ito. With Sayaka Kunii, Darren McIntyre, Mirei Yamagata, Wani Yoshimoto. Visiting her native Japan with her American boyfriend Darren, Reiko is disappointed to see him spend most of his time filming local stereotypes. Already upset, Reiko draws the line when Darren walks into a forbidden cave, which, according to local beliefs, enshrines Shinto gods since the dawn of time. From then, Reiko and Darren start witnessing strange things happening around them, some of which they manage to catch on camera. Will they have time to understand what is upon them before it is too late?

“I do not know if itu0026#39;s the fact that the movie takes place in Japan, and that Japanese filmmakers have already frightened the whole planet with The Ring franchise or The Grudge franchise, or if itu0026#39;s the fact that this country seem completely haunted, but even some critics will say that this film is a rip-off of Paranormal Activity, this u0026quot;Effectu0026quot; provokes much more shivers than the American version. I really miss Japanese horror films, I want to see more, and I want to see more from his two directors who while staying in a certain tradition, and while using a realistic approach, manage here to renew Japanase ghostu0026#39;s movie (here, no oily hair, just goose-flesh).”
