Bâsudê kâdo: Directed by Yasuhiro Yoshida. With Aoi Miyazaki, Ai Hashimoto, Shôsuke Tanihara, Aoi Nakamura. Is the loss of one’s mother at the age of ten made any less dismal if one receives letters from her once a year thereafter? Noriko loses her mother Yoshie and has to contend with life, friendships, love and marriage as well as her own personality as she grows up. Yet, she has the sage words of her mother to guide her.

“Little Noriko who was angry, asked her mother: u0026quot;Are you living your dream life? Are you satisfied with your current life?u0026quot;u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThis million-dollar question is the basic theme throughout the movie. We must be able to make peace with ourselves, for all the mistakes we have made, the regrets that we canu0026#39;t apologize for or the wrong decisions in our lives that we canu0026#39;t replay. And this movie depicts it so beautifully. A must watch!u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003ePS: Donu0026#39;t be surprised when you leave the theater, you would find most audience have red eyes.”
