Wait, Wait, Don’t Kill Me: Directed by Adam Lippe. With Davy J. Marr, Mathew Darcy, Preston Fritz Smith, Wesley Green. On the hottest day of the year, an unknown virus spreads throughout inner-city Philadelphia. The infected victims, crazed by dehydration, begin attacking other residents of the neighborhood in gruesome ways. When the military is brought in to contain the situation, but realize they can’t come up with a vaccine quickly enough, they fence off the area and let everyone die. A group of locals, stuck in the basement of their building, behind the fences, and separated from their family members, band together to try to survive.

“Of course I sat down to watch the 2020 movie u0026quot;Wait, Wait, Donu0026#39;t Kill Meu0026quot; given the fact that it was a zombie movie of sorts. Sure, I hadnu0026#39;t even heard about u0026quot;Wait, Wait, Donu0026#39;t Kill Meu0026quot; prior to now in 2021, when I had the opportunity to sit down and watch it. So I didnu0026#39;t know what to expect from it.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eBut with a rating of 3,2 on IMDb as I sat down to watch it, I must admit that my expectations werenu0026#39;t exactly sky-high. And with good cause, because u0026quot;Wait, Wait, Donu0026#39;t Kill Meu0026quot; was not a great movie in any aspects.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eIt should be said that it definitely felt like the people involved in the movie were putting their hearts and spirits into it, because while it was a low budget movie, the spirit of wanting to achieve something greater and make a good zombie movie was definitely there. But ultimately, writer and director Adam Lippe just didnu0026#39;t make it to the finish line.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eu0026quot;Wait, Wait, Donu0026#39;t Kill Meu0026quot; had potential, that was for certain. But it just ended up being just another run-of-the-mill low budget zombie movie with its heart in the right place – pardon the pun. u0026quot;Wait, Wait, Donu0026#39;t Kill Meu0026quot; didnu0026#39;t offer anything new to the genre, nor did it manage to stand out in the vast number of similar movies.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe special effects in u0026quot;Wait, Wait, Donu0026#39;t Kill Meu0026quot; were dubious at best. And that was something that held the movie back, because zombie movies need to have convincing special effects that look great and realistic, in order to win me over. u0026quot;Wait, Wait, Donu0026#39;t Kill Meu0026quot; just didnu0026#39;t have that.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe acting performers in the movie were so-so. I mean, you could tell that people were enjoying themselves participating in the movie, but the performances just werenu0026#39;t high-end quality performances. So it had the public theater feel to it.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eu0026quot;Wait, Wait, Donu0026#39;t Kill Meu0026quot; was a movie that snuck in under the radar and it will just as quietly return back into oblivion, without having caused a lasting impression. This is the type of zombie movie that you will watch once, and never again, only to completely forget about its existence.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eMy rating of u0026quot;Wait, Wait, Donu0026#39;t Kill Meu0026quot; lands on a two out of ten stars.”
