17KThe Mummy's Kiss: 2nd Dynasty (Video 2006). The Mummy's Kiss: 2nd Dynasty: Directed by Donald F. Glut. With Grace Asakura, Joe Baisur, Bruce Barlow, Mark Bedell. An aging woman kisses a mummy on display in a museum. This is what remains of the evil sorceress, Hor Shep Sut, who is reawakened to her murderous ways.
“This movie essentially begins with two professors named u0026quot;Dr. Harold Craigu0026quot; (Tony Clay) and u0026quot;Dr. Zita Furneauxu0026quot; (Belinda Gavin) putting on display some new artifacts for their museum that they had just received courtesy of the Harwa expedition some years earlier. Of particular interest is the mummified body of an ancient Egyptian sorceress named u0026quot;Hor-Shep-Sutu0026quot; (previously played by Ava Niche) who, rumor has it, came to life a few years ago and murdered several people before mysteriously returning to her sarcophagus. At least, that is what the esteemed archeologist u0026quot;Professor Brimwellu0026quot; (Arthur Roberts) tells an aspiring tabloid journalist named u0026quot;Elyse Lamu0026quot; (Christine Nguyen) who seeks to have an article on supernatural events published. Be that as it may, after a particularly ugly encounter with Dr. Craig regarding her appearance, Dr. Furneaux finds an ancient amulet and, after reading from a mystical text, summons the Egyptian goddess u0026quot;Nephthysu0026quot; (Andrea Smith) and requests that her former beauty be restored. For her part, Nephthys then tells her that in order for that to happen, she must first kiss the mummy which will bring the mummy back to life and subjugate it to do her bidding. After that, she then has to seduce a young woman and, during the process, absorb her spirit which–not only gives her a youthful appearance–but also enslaves her victim as well. Needless to say, she is quite happy with the results. What she doesnu0026#39;t realize, however, is that Nephthys hasnu0026#39;t told her that the effects are only temporary. So, in order to stay young, Zita has to keep sending the mummy out to procure more women for her–and this soon draws the attention of Elyse who is desperate for a sensational story such as this. Now, rather than reveal any more, I will just say this film was pretty much the same as its predecessor except that it had a few more attractive actresses thrown in for good measure with Stacy Burke (as u0026quot;Susanu0026quot;), Cindy Pucci (u0026quot;Tanyau0026quot;) and the aforementioned Christine Nguyen standing out the most, in my opinion. Be that as it may, none of these women could deflect from the rather limited plot or the overall weak acting and I have rated this movie accordingly. Below average.”
