Gui mi 2: Directed by Barbara Wong Chun-Chun. With Fiona Sit, Ivy Yi-Han Chen, Janine Chun-Ning Chang, Mike Tyson. A wild bachelorette weekend in a foreign city spins hilariously out of control in this over-the-top sequel to the box office smash GIRLS. After a drinking contest with some questionable local spirits, three friends wake naked on a beach to discover two are handcuffed to a locked suitcase, one has a strange new tattoo, and none of them have any clue what happened the night before. When they soon find themselves pursued by local gangsters, their only shot at making it home – and to the altar – is to piece together the previous night’s events while on the run.

“Granted, I havenu0026#39;t seen u0026quot;Smash Girlsu0026quot; (aka u0026quot;Gui miu0026quot;), but I still sat down to watch u0026quot;Girls vs Gangstersu0026quot; (aka u0026quot;Gui mi 2u0026quot;) on the fact that it is a Chinese movie, and I do love Asian cinema quite a lot.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe movie felt sort of redundant, as it was essentially something that you could and would have seen in other movies, such as the likes of u0026quot;The Hangoveru0026quot; and those types of movies. u0026quot;Girls vs Gangstersu0026quot; essentially offered nothing new to this particular type of comedy genre, and it felt like director and writer Barbara Wong Chun-Chun was just running on auto-pilot, playing it safe by following the blueprint from other movies. As such, u0026quot;Girls vs Gangstersu0026quot; failed to be unique.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eSure, u0026quot;Girls vs Gangstersu0026quot; is watchable, but you shouldnu0026#39;t expect anything grand or overly impressive from the movie. If you do, you will be sorely disappointed.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe movie benefits from having a good cast ensemble with the likes of Fiona Sit, Ivy Yi-Han Chen, Janine Chun-Ning Chang, Shuilin Wang, Tiantian Fan and Elly Nguyen , whom all actually performed quite well and definitely had lots of on-screen presence and charisma, and also a good chemistry on the screen. Then the movie had Mike Tyson on the cast list. Why? Seriously, why? That guy is by no means a good actor, and it is cringeworthy to watch him stumble through the dialogue and trying to put on a matching face and mimic. Luckily, he wasnu0026#39;t in the movie for all that long.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eu0026quot;Girls vs Gangstersu0026quot; didnu0026#39;t really manage to make me laugh, but the movie was adequate enough to watch. Although I turned it off 20 minutes before it ended, as I didnu0026#39;t really need to watch more of it. Yeah, the movie was that generic and predictable. But I am sure, with the female cast list, then there will be an audience out there for it whom will enjoy the movie.”
