Pavarotti: Directed by Ron Howard. With Luciano Pavarotti, Andrea Griminelli, Nicoletta Mantovani, Plácido Domingo. Life, works and achievements of opera legend Luciano Pavarotti.

“Pavarotti (2019) was directed by Ron Howard. Itu0026#39;s a solid biography of the extraordinary tenor, with archival footage and interviews with Pavarottiu0026#39;s colleagues, family, and friends.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eNo one questions Pavarottiu0026#39;s genius. Itu0026#39;s certainly on full display in the film. His personal choices may have been less than exemplary, so itu0026#39;s necessary to separate your thoughts about the artist from your thoughts about the man.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe good news is that, as far as I can tell, director Howard is presenting Pavarottiu0026#39;s story in an honest, unbiased way. At least, that appears to have been his goal. How well he succeeded is something that opera experts will have to tell us.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eWe saw the movie at Rochesteru0026#39;s excellent Little Theatre. It will work well enough on the small screen, although certainly you need to see it with a system that has good sound .u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe film has a solid IMDb rating of 7.5, which I think is just about right. Opera lovers wonu0026#39;t want to miss it. I think itu0026#39;s worth seeing even if you donu0026#39;t love opera.”
