Where the Skin Lies: Directed by Michael Boucherie. With Tristan Beint, Amelia Bennett, Simon Rivers, Louise Williams. Six people bound together by a traumatic experience decide to round off a year of group therapy in style. They join each other once more, traveling up to the Scottish Lowlands for a reunion weekend in a 1970s holiday let. Soon a number of mysterious and horrifying events start to expose the cracks in their relationships, and one by one they discover that trust runs but skin-deep. A night of closure turns out to be far more final than they could have anticipated.

“I usually have a guilty pleasure for bad movies like this with plot holes, hokey acting, and a this-probably-sounded-better-on-paper kind of idea. But this was just something else. Uninteresting characters I can deal with, but these were straight up irritating and had me rooting for their deaths. Poorly written dialogue I can deal with, but this felt like somebody fell asleep on the keyboard. Bad reveals I can work with, but this was… well it had no reveal.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eP.S. Whoever did sound editing on this needs to be kicked in the face. The constant whispering, mouth sounds, and VERY exaggerated breathing and swallowing sounds was not warranted. Usually this is used to create suspense or tension (and thatu0026#39;s probably what they were going for) but good god, they did not pull it off, not even close. This just came across like a gratuitous, grating, horribly attempted ASMR video for about 80% of the movie lol.”
