Tim’s Vermeer: Directed by Teller. With Tim Jenison, Penn Jillette, Martin Mull, Philip Steadman. Inventor Tim Jenison seeks to understand the painting techniques used by Dutch Master Johannes Vermeer.

“The Penn and Teller imprint makes sense, as this is in part a magic trick. Itu0026#39;s also one hell of a documentary, a detective story, an art history lesson, a science project and I donu0026#39;t know, a babyu0026#39;s arm holding an apple? Watched it with my 11 year old twin boys, whou0026#39;ve come across Penn u0026amp; Teller before, but like me they were captivated by Tim. His matter-of-fact approach, and a wizened kindness that is there along with his obsessive engineering mind made him a great character on the screen.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eAnd probably a pretty decent person in real-life. Itu0026#39;s nice that he has had enough commercial success in life that he can spend time rather than money, but even he questions the depths of his obsession. (Good thing they had decided to film this early on, as he admits to the camera.) Heu0026#39;s certainly a do-er, and to us lazy mere thinkers, thatu0026#39;s always impressive to see in action.”
