“Itu0026#39;s better than u0026quot;Brakeu0026quot;, and certainly more entertaining than u0026quot;Somewhereu0026quot;.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eI rented u0026quot;Pawnu0026quot; and u0026quot;Officer Downu0026quot; last night for a b-cop-double-feature. Pawn was alright, but Officer Down gets the nod out of the two for itsu0026#39; better acting across the board.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eIt marginally works as a character study.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe pacing is alright and the writing isnu0026#39;t half-bad.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe film needed a bit more interaction and back-story to the marriage/wife – which might have added some genuine drama. Really, that was the problem with both of these movies.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eWhile this is a u0026quot;bu0026quot; movie, and I am rating it a 6(56/100), Iu0026#39;m not going to be adding to my u0026quot;jeremyu0026#39;s B Movie marathon listu0026quot;. I donu0026#39;t know that I can give this my recommendation, but there are certainly worse options in the redbox.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe film has just enough surprises, and that u0026#39;better than usualu0026#39; performance from the lead that makes this slightly better than average, and certainly better than most of the b-straight-to-DVD fair thatu0026#39;s out there.”
