“Modern society is about competition: the winner takes it all, forget about the loser. Well, thatu0026#39;s inhuman. This movie deals with some of the extremes of that herd mentality which is enforcing its standards on everyone, labeling them u0026#39;winnersu0026#39;, u0026#39;losersu0026#39;, u0026#39;nerdsu0026#39;, u0026#39;jocksu0026#39;, or whatever. So what is u0026#39;successu0026#39;, really? Always putting a smiling face?u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eDespite its silly start and its premise so similar to u0026#39;Romy and Michelleu0026#39;s High School Reunionu0026#39; (duh!), this is a much darker version of your regular u0026#39;female buddy flicku0026#39;. The two main characters are so delusional and dumb (who has made and kept them as such?), that they actually donu0026#39;t resemble Romy and Michelle at all. The movie has a couple of laughs, but its dark side overrides its comedic side.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eMany people were misled by its u0026#39;comedyu0026#39; label, expecting hilarious situations or lines, or maybe even a silly or zany entertainment (you know, ass jokes, dumb and dumber, and so on). So of course itu0026#39;s not hilarious, but thatu0026#39;s really not that bad as theyu0026#39;d expect. Itu0026#39;s a different type of a film, even cruel at times (and almost unreal, to match the two girlsu0026#39; delusional state). This is what competitiveness makes to people.”
