After a chemical leak at the Hope Centre in Papua New Guinea (an organization devoted to feeding underdeveloped countries) turns its staff into flesh-eating zombies, a four-man commando squad led by Mike London are sent to investigate. They run into a TV news crew led by celebrity reporter Lia, who are after the same story, but when they discover that the entire country has been overrun by zombies, what are the chances of them getting the message across? Unlike most zombie films, this actually tries to make a serious point – that if we don’t feed the Third World, they’ll come and feed on us!

User Reviews: Hell Of The Living Dead is an odd little enigma of a movie. It starts off terrible making me think that i’ve just wasted 100 minutes of my time then it gets really good and then it goes back to being terrible (and boring) and then livens up again just to go back to complete rubbish! It’s quite an up and down affair actually. Right, the effects are also a mixed up thing….sometimes they’re excellent and on par with anything out of a Romero movie and then in another scene they look like something out of a school play! It seems like on some days the make-up artist could be bothered and then other days they just wanted to chill so they just slapped some green and grey paint on the zombies faces but heck when they bothered the effects were very realistic.

Another thing that annoyed me was the zombies themselves. Most zombies staggered at a snails pace and some stopped completely when one of the main characters was showing off and goading them 2 inches away from their faces AND then there was a zombie near the end of the film who moved so fast jumping on a guy he could be worthy of being in the Olympics. Having said that, i do like the way some of the zombies move, like in the resident evil video games (not the movie), really cool.

The female journalist is annoying and it’s very amusing to see what happens to her at the end. The English dubbing can also be very amusing at times making me give this movie an extra point for comedy value. Every zombie fan should watch this because it is very appealing and impressive in places, however…in some places it is so not. 6/10
