Ming dai zhui zhu: Directed by Ya-chuan Hsiao. With Dei-Yuan Chu, Hsiao-fan Fan, Chun-chieh Lee, Era Wang. Lin has to look after his father’s small pawnshop, while his father is hospitalized. His impish girlfriend Eiko, whom he met on the internet, comes to help him, when she is not working at the hospital. She calls Lin by his online pseudonym “No-lines” because he lost the lifeline on his hand in a motorcycle accident. Instead of checking IDs, Eiko suggests they take customers palm prints, so she can practice her palm-reading. Lin is attracted to a girl who comes to collect her pawned watch, and he arranges to meet her at the station, without Eiko knowing. The pair then try to sell off uncollected pawned articles, between stops on the subway train.

“Itu0026#39;s hard to figure out exactly what this movie is about. Is it just the story of 3 young people over a short period in their life? Is it about the different view each one of us has upon the same events? Or is there an underlying comment on the role of fate in our lives?u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eI found it very difficult to find out what is wrong with Ming dai ahui zhu, because itu0026#39;s a u0026quot;polishedu0026quot; movie; the direction and cinematography are fine and thereu0026#39;s good acting. Then why did I find it so boring and uninteresting? I guess itu0026#39;s the script; the story lacks suspense, there are no climaxes and on top of that I am still trying to find out what was the point. Sure, the film has some qualities but overall it is rather disappointing.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003e5”
