“I guess itu0026#39;s hard to make a good documentary, and geopolitics are complicated.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe footage is from Jun22, which is early on in the war.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eIt was interesting to see the prevalence of drone usage in combat, but there was zero perspective. Iu0026#39;m not even sure we can call this propaganda, in the sense that the same documentary could have been made following russians.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe one interesting passage for me was a female ex school teacher now working in intelligence who subsequently joined the military outright: u0026quot;I didnu0026#39;t think that I could be so cruel, that iu0026#39;d be glad about someoneu0026#39;s death, but for us theyu0026#39;re not human. And when we hear that 20 have been killed, we say u0026quot;damn, not enoughu0026quot;u0026quot;.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eIu0026#39;m not going to blame her, iu0026#39;m safe in another country. But in a way this glorifies war, and war without perspective but with drones and 20min of mortar footage looks a lot like a video game.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThis documentary brings nothing valuable to make sense of this war.”
