“Literally nothing happens in the first 30 minutes of this movie.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThen, suddenly…there is a guy in a deer skull mask killing people.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe aforementioned first third of the film is wasted on the attempted character development of some of the most loathsome and annoying individuals ever put on screen.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe whole thing takes place during the pandemic.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eWhere everyone is on lockdown, except, apparently, on Fire Island.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eAs far as I can tell, the island acts as a gay resort, or something.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eWhich a group of friends are visiting, with hopes they can set their depressed gay friend up with a good looking new dude…after losing his previous partner…when he died.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eHowever, both the writing and acting are completely atrocious.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eWith the plot construction being just as bad.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe whole thing is borderline unwatchable.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eNow, Iu0026#39;ve been known to watch some pretty bad movies…but this one was a real struggle to sit through.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eLet alone remain engaged.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThereu0026#39;s just way too much cringey drama…and not enough horror.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eAnd, even when there is horror…it has virtually no context.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eIt just happens…and the film continues to go nowhere.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eMaking you wonder why you are even putting in the time to watch it.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThere is, eventually…a u0026quot;big revealu0026quot;…but, not only is it waaaaay too predictable.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe reasoning behind it is, frankly, idiotic.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eI honestly canu0026#39;t think of one redeeming quality that this film possesses.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eSo steer well clear.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eUnless you have a high tolerance for cinemasochism.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eDefinitely one of the worst horror films of 2023.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003e1 out of 10.”
