“Right, well with the 2022 feature u0026quot;Heart Shotu0026quot; being a short film running at 19 minutes, youu0026#39;re not in for an in-depth venture into the storyline. But I will say that writers Lauren Ludwig and Marielle Woods actually managed to put together a very intense short film here.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eSure, the storyline is not all that elaborative, but of course with only 19 minutes of run-time, who would expect it to be. But I will say that director Marielle Woods does manage to squeeze a good amount of intense action out of the storyline in those 19 minutes.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eWith that being said, then u0026quot;Heart Shotu0026quot; sort of felt incomplete, and that sort of took away from the overall enjoyment of the short film. I certainly would have liked to see more, because there was a rather hard-punching intensity to the narrative that would benefit well from a longer playtime.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThe acting performances in u0026quot;Heart Shotu0026quot; were good, and the two leading actresses Elena Heuzé (playing Nikki) and Nia Sondaya (playing Samantha) really carried the movie quite well with some strong performances. I was impressed with what they delivered, especially in such a short time. Needless to say that these were two actresses that I wasnu0026#39;t previously familiar with.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eThis short film was actually rather impressive and in-your-face, which definitely surprised me.u003cbr/u003eu003cbr/u003eMy rating of u0026quot;Heart Shotu0026quot; lands on a six out of ten stars.”
